Funding Philosphy of the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund
In keeping with our stated mission "To relieve the misfortune and promote the well being of mankind", we look for opportunities to promote the creation and enhancement of fund-raising capacity within institutions, organizations and agencies dedicated to serving community needs.
The support of board-led fund-raising activities and the creation of membership gift societies has become an important part of our work. By providing both incentive grants, and initial training, we have been able to play a vital role in increasing sustainable annual giving results.

"The Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund is well known for commitment to the communities of Oregon. In the particular case of the legacy Giving Circle, the grant from the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund gave Board members and key staff the opportunity to spread our wings and engage in actively promoting the Fruit & Flower vision outside our usual comfortable boundaries. We re-connected with former Board members, staff, parents and alumni. Neighbors and a new group of supporters learned more about our program. Through this challenge grant we have strengthened our outreach fundraising capacity."
