The major objective of the grant was to broaden the donor base, specifically members of the Champions for Kerr Gift Society who made a contribution of $1,000 during the campaign. Our secondary goal was to ensure 100% board and trustee participation. The Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund challenge grant was instrumental in recruiting 24 new Champions members.

We learned that we can increase our champions donor base by increasing leads generated by directors and trustees, and selectively targeting new groups of potential donors, such as family members of our clients. Also, donors give in bad economic times; you just need to personally ask for their support. By bringing in new Champions members, we have created momentum to ensure the continued success of the Champions campaign, which in turn helps ensure the continuity of Kerr’s operations.
